About Us

The Charlottesville Women’s Choir (CWC) started in 1984 with just four members.  More than thirty years later, the CWC grew to 40 members before being unable to sing together for more than two years because of the pandemic.  In 2022 we began to regroup.  CWC is a self-directed choir; various members volunteer to teach and direct our songs.  Volunteers also manage the business of the choir.

CWC rehearses every Monday evening from September through May, 6:45–8:30 p.m., at Sojourners United Church of Christ in Charlottesville.

The Choir will continue its tradition of performing an annual spring concert in early June with a performance at The Center at Belvedere.  CWC also sings at various community events and venues such as the SHE Vigil, International Day of Peace, Sojourners United Church of Christ, and the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.
